Cool adventures await winter visitors to Ohio's Hocking Hills

Logan, Ohio – Winter travelers have long come to southeast Ohio's gorgeous Hocking Hills region seeking cozy cabins, bubbling hot tubs and stunning scenery. Real thrill-seekers will love the year-round adventure of Hocking Hills Nature Trails, a one-of-a-kind ATV park with expert ATV instruction, rental, miles of private trails and more available all winter long. Other unforgettable activities are offered year-round in the Hocking Hills parks, including ice fishing at Rose Lake and Lake Logan, cross country skiing and sledding.  In addition, tree climbing (offered in temperatures above 40°F) and even animal tracking hikes.  Winter offers the best time to track Hocking Hills wildlife, with evidence of animals such as deer, fox and beaver is more easily seen.  Paw prints, scat, disturbed fauna and markings on trees are telltale signs wildlife is in the area. For bird lovers, with the normally abundant fall foliage gone from the trees, winter is an ideal time for bird watching in the Hocking Hills.  Dramatic black vultures, red tailed hawks and great horned owls and other species are more visible in winter months.
